This is going to be a very low-tech post. No links. No pictures. No graphs. Just a set up and two questions.

The Set-Up

The other evening on The Daily Show the guest was Obama’s main guru David Axelrod. The host, Jon Stewart, asked Axelrod if it weren’t about time to stop blaming everything on George W. Bush. Axelrod, acting like he had misunderstood the question, fired up the after-burner on the blame-o-tron and started spewing forth problems the administration faced like .. like … like whatever the name of that Icelandic volcano is. Kvetch kvetch kvetch. So many problems when we took office. The Afghanistan thing, the financial thing.

The Questions

  1. Do you not realize that the reason you were elected was that people were not happy with the way things were going?
  2. Having won using Change as a rallying cry don’t you think it would have been a good idea to work on things people wanted Changed, like the financial crisis, the rising unemployment, rather than focusing all your attention on something like Health Care?

Bonus Question

Which genius had the great idea to have Paul McCartney, after Obama spent some quality time bopping, nodding his head, and clapping in time to some songs McCartney played, announce that it was an ineffable joy to play for a President of the United States who actually knew what a library was? *

*especially a president who doesn’t know about Region Codes
