I. Tell People They Are Stupid

In a move sure to calm anxieties about the latest version of Obama-Care the administration has decided to adopt a bold new strategy:  call the American people stupid and then prove to them that Obama’s people are stupid too.

I don’t know hope hopeful this is; it feels more like desperation. It is, however, definitely different. One might even call it novel.

The first thing they do, just to get us interested and to give some idea of how weird it is going to get, is to have an obvious plant start babbling about the introduction of the microcomputer. He blathers on about how people were scared of them until they had DOS for Dummies to quiet their fear of these newfangled creatures. Then he says that’s what these Tea Party people need: Obama Care for Dummies. Once they have been plucked from the swamp of ignorance they won’t be so afraid of it.

II. Give an Example of What Stupid Looks Like

This was the first instance of a person proving he is stupid. Since DOS for Dummies came out in 1991 and Bill Gates and Paul Allen, the founders of Microsoft and DOS, were already pretty well fixed by that time I guess somebody was able to gather his courage and purchase a PC prior to the book’s publication. The speaker (aka the obvious plant) also proved he wasn’t so hot at reading (or spelling, either) because he kept saying eck cetera. Since the word is pronounced exactly like it’s spelled, and it’s spelled et cetera, he kind of blew the whistle on himself with that one.

III. Demonstrate That You’re Stupid, Too

Then one of the President’s chief advisors, Valerie Jarrett, jumped on the stupid bandwagon by talking about what a hard word cloture was and wondering who could be expected to know a word like that.

This is a major component of the strategy. Call it the kumbaya component. Since both you and we are stupid we’re kind of all in this together. So let’s all hold hands, sing a song, stop making signs, and quit scaring legislators.

IV. The Hard Part

This is where they separate the men from the boys. You’ve told the people they were stupid. You’ve shown them you were stupid, too, and you should all hold hands, sing songs, and use your newfound solidarity to support the people who are perfectly willing to solve all your problems if only you will let them. And then — Shaazam! Present yourselves as Really Smart People who should not be questioned by the stupid who have been proven to be stupid by virtue of the fact that they were called stupid by the very people who are now revealed to be really, really smart.

Well, don’t blame me. I said it was the hard part.

See if you enjoy this latest offering from the folks at Obama-Care courtesy of Hot Air. I’m guessing YES.
