Watching the actions of the Obama administration has several times led me to suspect that its ultimate agenda was a nightmare America, militarily defanged, socialist, bankrupt, to be created  using a couple of strategies from the 60’s, and that these strategies, refined by 40 years of percolating in the culture medium provided by the zeitgeist of anti-capitalism, narcissism, and bitterness regnant in the universities and intelligentsia, might succeed where they had failed earlier.

The two strategies were

  1. the Black Panther / Weatherman / SLA one of setting elements of society at one another’s throats and then coming in to pick up the pieces and
  2. the Cloward-Piven strategy, wherein a society’s efforts to help people are intentionally overwhelmed by artificially inflated demand until the society collapses as a result of not being to honor its good intentions.

It seemed that effort was being advanced at every opportunity by the leftist academe-intelligentsia nexus which views everyday America the way ants view aphids.

An ant tends aphids to get the glucose they secrete

Ant tending aphids to get the glucose they secrete

Normally I could lift the grate in the floor of my brain and force such thoughts down into the Denial Dungeon.  But today I read a post at Hot Air and a comment to the post.  When you put the two together that grate in the floor pops open and out swarm the monsters.

Obama demanded fiscal austerity this week … at the same time he lifted the cap on US debt from $12.4 trillion to $14.3 trillion.  The difference between the two is about what the federal government spent for all of FY1999.  It’s half of what Obama proposes to spend in FY2011.  Democrats have raised spending by over a trillion dollars a year since taking control of Congress in 2007.

And you say to yourself, This can’t be an accident. They are going to borrow the entire 1999 budget and spend it on top of the budget they already have?  There is no way even members of Congress can be this thoughtless.  This careless.  This blasé about the debt and the deficit.

Then you read the comment.

All the building blocks are being put in place to “nudge” America into a financial abyss. The resultant “crisis” will not go to waste, and draconian “emergency powers” will be invoked. Extra-ordinary steps to “secure” American resources and means of production will taken to “ensure equitable distribution” of “vital public services” “during these trying times”. Obama’s monotone, soothing assurances will come across the airwaves, “…some might say these resposible steps are unnecessary,… that they represent a radical departure from our constitutional norms,… Let me be clear…”.

If you have not made the prescient preparations, put in place the vital infrastructure to “Go Galt“, you had better “Hope” you know someone who has that is very, very fond of you, ’cause this is the “Change” that is in the cards. And it will “fundamentally transform America!”

Coupled with Morrissey’s Hot Air post there is nothing in that comment that I can point to and say That’s wrong!

Read the whole post at Hot Air.  Might as well know the worst.

Way cool, Fausta! Thanks for the link!
