From Mona Charen at NRO:
Axelrod tried to be soothing. “There are messages here. We hear those messages, but there is a tendency in this town . . . to overblow things. . . . And I don’t think it’s about that one particular issue. I think there’s a general sense of discontent about the economy and there’s a general sense of discontent about this town. That’s why we were elected. We are committed to doing something about it.”
A general sense of discontent… and … a general sense of discontent.
From the Medicine Net:
Malaise: A vague feeling of discomfort, one that cannot be pinned down but is often sensed as just not right.Malaise comes straight from the Frency who compounded it from mal (bad or ill ) + aise (ease) = ill at ease.
Hmmm.
- A general sense of discontent
- A vague feeling of discomfort
I don’t often go in for prophecy, but I am going to offer this one (cue the pipe organ):
President Obamaaaa. President Obamaaaaa.

Axelrod forgot about a general feeling of discontent about Axelrod. And the same goes for the Big 0 too.
They keep thinking their problem is that they are not getting their message out. I sympathize with their problem. I think the voters sent an unmistakable message, postmarked Massachusetts, on Tuesday and nobody in the White house or in Congress with the exception of Barney Frank seems to have heard it.
