I was just innocently reading James Taranto’s Best of the Web Today and enjoying myself and then I hit the following line:

Nelson said there were positive improvements dealing with teen pregnancy and adoption

That’s all, folks.  It’s all over.  The federal government is now going to deal with everything.  Everything.  If your teenage daughter gets pregnant.  If your teenage son impregnates a girl. The federal government is going to deal with it and going to deal with it in such a way that pleases not you, (if there were a way for you to be pleased in such a situation) but Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska.

As it is, without modifications, the language concerning abortion is not sufficient,” Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, a key holdout on the health care bill, said in a statement after first making his concerns known to Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Nelson said there were positive improvements dealing with teen pregnancy and adoption, and that he was open to further negotiations. But in a radio interview earlier in the day with KLIN in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nelson also said that abortion wasn’t his only concern and he didn’t see how the Christmas deadline was achievable.

Hey, how’s it goin, Ben?  Long time no see.  You know my wife, Marge.  Well, no, you don’t.  In fact we don’t know who you are nor what you’re doing here. But since you are, and seem to be in control of things, well, we have a situation here.  Kay went out to the Junior Prom with Tommy Parsons who lives down the block and is on the track team and they decided to stop for a malt.  Nice boy, and Kay is a good girl, but you know how kids are…
