I just dis­cov­ered this Debt Clock which is one of those things that you really do need to see to get its impact.  Words fail.  So, hav­ing said that I will shut up and pro­vide a link… EXCEPT (sur­prise, sur­prise) to say that it is no rev­e­la­tion to see that reg­u­lar cit­i­zens really do get it and the politi­cians really don’t.  All cat­e­gories of pri­vate debt are going down and all cat­e­gories of pub­lic debt are going up.

It’s pretty scary, because our GDP is going up and up and so are the tax rev­enues at the state and fed­eral lev­els and the debt at those lev­els is going up even faster.  No mat­ter how much is brought in more goes out.  It’s like we’re going down a steep hill in a fully-​​loaded truck with no brakes. It’s hard to believe these politi­cians even pre­tend they’re work­ing for our best interests.
