Reading in the New York Times today:

The party’s last holdouts, Senators Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, said that they would not block consideration of President Obama’s top domestic initiative.

Top domestic initiative.  Hmmm.  Since President Obama’s top international initiative appears to involve undoing all the foreign policy successes of the last 60 years and repeating  mistakes this probably does not bode well. However, as the history of this initiative is one long story of calm deliberation, transparency, and healthy bipartisan debate, we can imagine what the meeting, where they crossed all the T’s and dotted all the I’s, resembled.
